Artists and Sculptors.

Artists & Sculptors

I can run art sculpture workshops on the following artists. I'm constantly adding new workshops, but if there is an artist or sculptor that you would like a workshop on I'm happy to come up with some ideas.

Andy Gormley

Antony Gormley is widely acclaimed for his sculptures, installations and public artworks that investigate the relationship of the human body to space. His work has developed the potential opened up by sculpture since the 1960s through a critical engagement with both his own body and those of others in a way that confronts fundamental questions of where human beings stand in relation to nature and the cosmos.

Mary Martin

Mary Martin used permutations determined by mathematical principles such as the Golden Section and the Fibonacci sequence. Her reliefs are built up using modern sheet material, from a base plane, which allows the works, when placed against the wall, to become part of the architectural environment. She developed spiral movement in later reliefs.

Piet Mondrian

In his mature paintings, Mondrian used the simplest combinations of straight lines, right angles, primary colours, and black, white, and gray. The resulting works possess an extreme formal purity that embodies the artist’s spiritual belief in a harmonious cosmos..

Ben Nicholas

Nicholson's earliest paintings were still lifes influenced by those of his father. In the 1920s he began painting figurative and abstract works inspired by Post Impressionism and Cubism. He produced his first geometric and abstract reliefs in 1933.
